I don’t see how this stops birds getting hit. Why won’t they still get hit by tubes rather than blades?
Two reasons 1) certain migrating birds are attracted to the aviation warning lights on some turbines, 2) the constant ”hum” or ”whine” of bladed turbines attracts birds and bats. Once drawn in, they at risk of being ”sliced” by the blades rotating at high velocities. The Mekaro design is silent, and even if impact occured, the damage is comparatively less fatal.
