He showed his love for his work and people. He was so proud of his little girl. I’ll never forget what she said on Opra. Opra asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said ”I want to be just like my daddy” I watched a show where he had her helping with the crocs. He was a great guy & I looked up to him. I’m going to miss watching his shows.
It is a great shame and loss to the world and his family. I have nothing but heartfelt sorrow for his family and friends. I hope that Terri and Wes will continue to keep his legacy going until Bindi or Bob are old enough to take the reigns. It won’t be the same without him, we will endeavor knowing that he is watching over his beloved animals and family.

What a loss to the conservation community. Deepest sympathy to his family.

My kids and I loved to watch Steve, he will be missed on Television. It was always thought that a crocodile would get him, since he worked with those dangerous creatures most of the time. It is sad that his wife and daughter will be without a father.

What a tragic loss for his family. My kids love his shows and will be devastated by the news.
Never in the field of conservation has one man so raised its’ worldwide profile and done so with such enthusiasm and joy.

Devastating loss too many, personifies what we all want to be; great dad, great friend, great for the economy in Australia, and great teacher and naturalist. Any of us would want only one, yet Steve had them all. Even in death he taught us all valuable a lesson, a rarely ever fatal sting from the barb of a stingray did what poisonous snake bites and crocs couldn’t do. From a man who lost his father at a young age he left his kids with more than you can imagine, we’ll all miss you Steve

It’s too much of a horrible shock to sink in right now, like the deaths of Princess Di and John Kennedy. He was so well-liked, and so was his family, whom we can’t have enough simpathy for. Even though he was in a dangerous occupation, no one is ever ready for news like this.

P.S. Please get rid of the phony shark picture in the ”Modern-Day Noah” story.

I am suprised and shocked by this news. I liked watching this great man’s show and movie and I was devestated to learn that he, who survived the most dangerous of animals, was killed by a stingray. He probably didn’t see it because I learned that stingrays tend to hide under dirt in the sea ground. It’s sad. R.I.P. Steve, you will be missed by all of us.

There were many times I watched his show ... holding my breath and saying to myself ”this guy is totally crazy” but the more I watched, the more I knew the attention he was bringing to the animals and the enviroment... And this was a GOOD thing. I smiled as some of his expressions and in my heart I will always remember him with fondness. But most of all my heart is filled with a heavy ache for his family. My thoughts, love and and tears are sent their way. Just know that there are so many people living a ”safe mundane life” that are taken away in Accidents ... car accidents, robberies, being at the wrong place and the wrong time. But the difference is some people really LIVE their lives for the things they love and care about. We are always sorry to lose them but that pain can be eased by the quality not the quanity of their life. Thank you Steve and much love to your family.
The recent accidental death of Steve Irwin reminds us all that how human life is so fragile. Even as the natural world shrinks because of our encroaching population it was people like Steve that brought the animal world to us. Certainly his methods were dangerous but that’s why we liked him. I have no desire to wrestle a crocidile nor grab a rattlesnake. Steve already did for me. His biggest contribution and lasting legacy was demystify the animal world for our kids. They’ll remember Steve long after we’re gone. Crikey!
