Woah! Don’t shave against the grain of the hair. This is my field of expertise, I’m the admin of http://www.rightshave.com
Shaving against the grain will get you a closer shave, but at the risk of razor bumps (ingrown hairs) and razor burn. Instead, shave with the grain (up to twice over the same area) Then across (at a 90 degree angle to) the grain. Visit the site for more free advice.

Great point, I have buddies that still insist on going against the grain. I like Tacha point about sunscreen, but everyone not just people of fair skin should use sunscreen. It is the easiest and cheapest way to keep your skin from again. After I shave I put on a post shave balm, Is it ok to put sunscreen right on top of the balm? or should I try to wait? This is the sun block

Think of it as a veil of defense. With an SPF of 25, this innovative product helps prevent lines and discoloration before they occur by blocking damaging UVA/UVB rays. A calming peptide helps relax expression lines. This is one of the few best sunscreens in the market in my opinion.
